Frankenstein Treats

I make these treats every Halloween and they are always a hit. This year, with my young adult children scattered in different towns, I decided to skip it. Then everyone wanted to know when they should come home and pick up their Frankensteins! I guess this is a tradition that will be around for a long time and I’m grateful for it.
You will need:
7 cups Krispy rice cereal
1 stick butter or margarine
1 16oz bag mini marshmallows
Green food coloring
Pretzel sticks
Chocolate frosting
Cherry gummy candy
1 tube black gel icing or black royal icing
Melt butter in large pot over medium heat.
Add marshmallows and stir constantly til melted.
Add enough green food coloring to make a deep green.
Turn heat off and add cereal.
Mix until all the cereal is covered with green marshmallow cream.
Press mixture into greased cookie sheet or baking dish (depends on how thick you want your treats).
Place pan in fridge for an hour to set.
Remove treats from pan and cut into rectangles. I get 8 from a cookie sheet.
Use chocolate frosting for the hair. Frost the sides and top of treat.
Cut cherry candy into two circles.
Using the gel icing or royal icing, place a small dot on flat side of each candy and place for eyes.
With the black icing create a scar on the forehead and scary mouth, and maybe a nose.
Break the pretzel stick in half and insert into sides to represent the bolts in the neck.

Have a Happy Halloween!
