A Product Review and Baby Shower Fun

I’m excited to share my CSN product review with you. I have been completely neglectful of sharpening my knives. It’s been at least a year since I’ve have them sharpened. My knives were so dull, that sometimes I would buy pre-chopped veggies at the grocery store. As cooks we know that a sharp knife is a lot safer than a dull one. I recently received the Chef’sChoice Pronto Diamond Hone Knife Sharpener. This sharpener got great reviews on the CSN website.

The instructions were easy to follow, the sharpener fits in a drawer, and it takes no time to use. My knives now cut like they are brand new. I didn’t know what to expect from this product but I am extremely pleased.

I catered a baby shower this past weekend and that fact that my knives were in great shape cut my prep time down considerably. The shower was a huge success. The hosts had a baby shower/house warming party since guests hadn’t seen their newly remodeled home yet. The couple wanted a barbeque. I served pull pork sandwiches, sausage wraps, hotdogs, potato salad, beans and deviled eggs. The food went great with the outdoor party, margarita machine and kegs. The couple had their home and backyard decorated with baby blue decorations for their new little boy’s arrival.

The shower/party was a huge success. I’m very happy for the expectant parents. The couple did a great job picking out their menu since they had men, women and children come to the party. The guests loved the food, the gift table was full and everyone was beaming with well wishes for the new Mommy and Daddy to be.

  2. Can you believe I've never sharpened a knife before? Come to think of it, I've never owned a good knife before. I should really get on that.

PS: I see you're in New Braunfels...many of my best childhood memories include visiting NB and floating down the river. What a beautiful place.

  9. I have an electric knifesharpener that I use regularly, and I use a steel all the time inbetween. A sharp knife is definately safer than a blunt one!

  10. Glad that the baby shower you catered to went fabulously well!
About two weeks ago, Linda of My Kind of Cooking ask what is our favourite kitchen tool. My reply is a knife sharpener! Had a good and cheap knife sharpener but the sharpening stone has been exhausted due to over-use! Now I couldn't find a replacement! What I can't stand the most is a blunt knife!
